Gulfsight

An independent project for Gulfsight: a startup that focuses on providing customized reports and unique visualizations of business structures in the Persian Gulf. Unfortunately, Gulfsight was put on hold indefinitely before we settled on a visual identity concept, so I figured I'd show both directions here.

Direction A: See the big picture — and the details

Direction A: See the big picture — and the details

This direction was inspired by diamond shapes and typographic forms that reference Arabic calligraphy, the color green (culturally significant and a reference to technology), and satellite images of the Gulf.

Direction B: Discover what's out there

Direction B: Discover what's out there

Black bars are traditionally used to redact, but here, they are used to reveal. This direction also aims to reveal its own structure, just as Gulfsight reveals the structure of businesses in the Gulf. Lastly, it uses a supporting palette inspired by the striking colors of the Gulf — its skies, deserts, and metropolitan oases.
